The design philosophy behind COLORado PXL Curve 1 and 5 goes beyond lighting effects and movement. It also extends into how the fixtures rig in real production environments.
In this Light Snacks episode, Senior Product Manager Michael Graham highlights the custom butterfly bracket system developed specifically for the PXL Curve fixtures. Traditional Omega brackets can create instability during side hangs due to limited contact surface area, sometimes causing fixtures to rock or shift inside the rig.
To solve this, the COLORado PXL Curve 1 and 5 use a wider butterfly bracket design that creates a more stable mounting point and helps fixtures stay aligned cleanly in vertical or side-hung configurations.
The system also includes adjustable slide points that allow riggers to reposition brackets around truss chords or structural obstacles while still maintaining tight fixture spacing and seamless layouts.
The result is a cleaner, more flexible rigging experience that supports scalable designs without sacrificing speed, stability, or visual consistency.
From touring productions to permanent installs, the COLORado PXL series was built to simplify the technical workflow while expanding creative possibilities.
